In the year 2008, the Australian government announced a boost to the grants and this was done in order to save the ongoing global financial crisis. This step was undertaken in order to stimulate the housing industry and increase the home affordability. Hence $ 14000 was given to the new buyers while #7000 was given to the established buyers. This policy lasted for a year from 1^st October 2008 to 30^th September 2009.
